Blog Post 1: 24 Hour Media Consumptiom

To begin the blog, students are asked to track a day in the life of media consumption. I chose to track my media consumption today, March 22nd. I found the media I consume very intriguing because as I work full time I have been consuming less media. Although the media mostly consume I feel is filled with questionable information.

7:30 a.m: I woke up around 6:45 am and got ready for work. At around 7:30 am I usually check my email and scroll on instagram to see the news and headlines for the day. The first thing I saw was an email reporting the, “top news,” for the day. Which included articles that state the following.

Article 1: “ Never Pay a Dentist To Clean your teeth” link

Article 2: “100 Migrants Rush Border at El Paso” link

Article 3: “Apple Cider VInegar for Weight Loss” link

8:40AM: I scroll through instagram before work while having my morning coffee. I follow a local account called, “WTF Portland.” Where I saw videos and reports about a car being flipped and set on fire. I also saw a video on BBC news about Kate Midelton announcing she is suffering from cancer.

9:00-12:00: I am at work and not consuming nay media.

12:37pm: I eat and scroll through news articles online. I received an email from, “Need to Know Facts.” Which states Oregon drivers who have never received  DUI will be having a “pay day” this upcoming Friday. And well as an announcement of my favorite artist going on world tour, Black Kray.

12:40-5:00pm: I am not on social media as I am working.

5:15pm: Arrive home from work and scroll through Tik Tok for around 30 minutes before I begin homework. I saw more news regarding the Kate Mildeton video on E News! Then I saw a video about Jersey Shore which I love to watch as it is one of my favorite shows. I also follow many design pages so I got into looking at Frank Lloyde houses.

5:40- 11:00 pm: Homework

11:15: I Watch Channel 5 News with Andrew Challehan about the Tunnel people in Las Vegas and I am subscribed to the pateron and love his content.

12:00pm: Bed
